SUMMER IN OP
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Summer in OP is a unique experience for summer interns to network and explore Overland Park. The program, created and hosted by the Overland Park Chamber, started in 2024 as a way to help interns build networks and show them what life would be like if they called Overland Park their hometown. The program is targeted at college junior, senior or graduate student interns who are working at a variety of businesses and organizations in Toledo for the summer.
Since 2024, the Summer in the City program has hosted nearly 240 interns, representing over 15 companies in Overland Park and the Kansas City region.
The program runs during June and July and offers interns the opportunity to experience both the quality of life and the professional side of the Overland Park. Social events are geared towards fun and networking, while the skills series is aimed at developing the interns into young professionals.
