Diplomats

Diplomats are the goodwill arm of the Overland Park Chamber. They work for Chamber member companies and serve as volunteers to help build relationships and make the organization feel personal, accessible and community‑driven.

Our Diplomat volunteers:

• Welcome and engage new Chamber members Diplomats act as the first friendly point of contact. Every new member is paired with a Diplomat who serves as their mentor during the first year of membership.
• Support ribbon cuttings and grand openings They attend and assist with ceremonies, helping celebrate new businesses and expansions across Overland Park.
• Promote member retention Diplomats check in with members, help identify concerns, and ensure businesses feel supported and connected.
• Facilitate networking and connections They help members meet each other, build relationships, and integrate into the Chamber community. Many Diplomats describe this as a major benefit — it expands their own network while helping others.
• Volunteer in community initiatives Diplomats often participate in service projects, such as volunteering at local nonprofits.

Diplomats strengthen the Chamber’s ability to:

• Support small businesses and entrepreneurs
