The Chamber attracts and expands businesses in Overland Park. Supported by private and public investors, our Economic Development Council (EDC) team focuses on:

Advocacy

Our advocacy programs keep members informed on policy issues and ensures the business community’s perspective is heard and considered.

Our Public Policy & Advocacy Committee discusses governmental and legislative issues and recommends policy to Chamber leadership including setting annual legislative platforms for federal, state and local policy.

Providing our members with services that help their businesses succeed and prosper is a big part of what the Chamber does.

Through events and meetings, we help businesses expand their markets, connect with other business professionals and establish mutually beneficial partnerships.

Talent & Workforce Development

Through our Opportunity NOW community and economic development initiative, the Chamber has become a valuable resource for employers in monitoring the workforce supply and implementing tips, tools and best practices to help you find, hire and develop employees.

Industry representatives on the Talent Council serve as an advisory committee to Chamber leadership and staff. It meets monthly to provide oversight, guidance and input.

Leadership Overland Park

Leadership Overland Park (LOP) is an annual six‐month program of the Chamber Foundation. It educates and motivates potential new leaders on the inner workings, achievements and challenges of our community and prepares them to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. Participants learn how the community works, meet local leaders and build skills that turn professionals into powerhouses. Founded in 1983, LOP has graduated more than 1,150 alumni.

Young Professionals

Our Young Professionals program provides professional, social and philanthropic opportunities for the next generation of business and civic leaders.

This program proves networking doesn’t have to feel like work – it can feel like grabbing a drink with smart, driven people who also happen to know what’s happening in the business community before others do.

Leads Groups

The Chamber’s Leads Groups are structured, industry‑exclusive networking groups designed to help Chamber members build relationships and exchange business referrals in a consistent, supportive environment. They function as small, curated referral networks where each member represents a unique industry category.
