Chamber Senior Vice President Libbey Tucker presents at national conference

Overland Park, Kan., March 6, 2026 – Libbey Tucker, Chamber Senior VP of Economic Development, this week had the opportunity to present at the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Leadership Summit as part of a panel discussing the continued entrepreneurial boom and the evolving role of economic developers.
We’re now in our fifth straight year of the largest surge in entrepreneurship this century, and small businesses are playing an outsized role in shaping local economies. The conversation focused on how economic development organizations across the country are shifting priorities – placing greater emphasis on business retention and expansion, small business support and entrepreneurship.
Libbey shared how the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce is working to build a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem. From leveraging the SizeUp data platform to provide market insights for entrepreneurs, to offering micro-grants, convening our Small Business Council, and launching the Shawnee Mission Student Chamber of Commerce, we’re focused on creating pathways for businesses to start, grow and thrive.
These efforts are helping ensure the next generation of entrepreneurs – and the small businesses that power our communities – have the tools and support they need to succeed.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to share our work and learn from peers across the country who are equally committed to strengthening local economies through entrepreneurship,” Libbey said.
