Opportunity NOW
In 2023, the Chamber launched Opportunity NOW, a five-year community and economic development initiative backed by community leaders and investors to boost the city’s competitiveness.
Recognizing a strong workforce is vital for economic prosperity, Goal #1 of Opportunity NOW is to attract, retain and attract talent. The Chamber has developed a number of programs focused on enhancing Overland Park’s workforce and talent pipeline.
Talent Council
The Talent Council is an advisory committee that provides ongoing business input on talent attraction and retention trends, practices and resources. It offers industry insights into the development of Chamber talent strategies and initiatives to help the business community continue to find skilled talent while also attracting new talent. Talent Council members include representatives from across the workforce development ecosystem, including industry, higher education, K-12, foundations and training providers.

Workforce Study
The Chamber engaged TIP Strategies, Inc., a nationally recognized workforce and economic development consulting firm, to prepare a comprehensive talent and workforce study. OP Talent NOW provides recommendations to overcome barriers and seize opportunities for attracting, retaining and developing the city’s workforce. It is built on a foundation of comprehensive research, stakeholder engagement and a deep understanding of the unique characteristics that define Overland Park’s competitiveness.
Concierge Services
Our concierge program is a comprehensive service designed to support companies in recruiting and retaining talent by easing the transition for newcomers and their families to the Overland Park area. To help new residents quickly integrate into our community and feel at home, this program offers a variety of personalized services.
Future Professionals
The Chamber is connecting businesses with the future workforce through a number of programs that give students hands-on work experience in a variety of industries.
