Attract, Retain and Align Talent
In 2023, the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce launched Opportunity NOW, a five-year community and economic development initiative to boost the city’s competitiveness. Backed by leaders and investors from across the community, the Opportunity NOW framework recognizes that a strong workforce is vital for economic prosperity.
Goal #1 of Opportunity NOW is to attract, retain and align talent. To achieve this goal, the Chamber is implementing talent and workforce strategies to help employers attract and retain the quality talent they need to be competitive, while ensuring workers have access to quality job opportunities.
Key strategies include:
- Develop a comprehensive plan
- Establish a Talent Council - provide consistent business input that aligns business needs with educational offerings for all people.
